| Al Kooper
Al Kooper played organ on Bob Dylan's Like a Rolling Stone. He produced Super Sessions, with Stephen Stills, Mike Bloomfield and Buddy Miles. Super Sessions was a top ten album. It was recorded in the way that old jazz sessions were recorded- loose and live. Al Kooper worked on he stage crew at Monterey Pop, where he turned down an invitation from Hendrix to sit in on Like a Rolling Stone. Kooper played gospel-style piano on Hendrix's Long Hot Summer Night, on the Electric Ladyland album. Hendrix gave Kooper a guitar, a Fender Stratocaster, which he sold in the late Nineties. |
