
| Eddie Kramer
born Edwin H. Kramer Kramer's career began in London, England in 1960 where he emmigrated from South Africa after studies in classical piano, cello and violin. At Pye Studios in London he quickly moved up the ladder, recording with artists like Sammy Davis, Jr., Petula Clark and The Kinks. He moved over to London's Olympic Studios, before moving to the US in 1968 where he worked at The Record Plant in New York City. Kramer was instrumental in the creation of Hendrix's Electric Lady Studios where he served as Director Of Engineering from 1970-74. He also headed up the location sound crew that recorded the Woodstock Festival. A discography of artists produced and/or engineered by Kramer numbers more than a hundred and includes Rock luminaries and includes: JImi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Peter Frampton, Kiss and David Bowie. Kramer is still an active producer/engineer whose recent credits include Carlos Santana and Kyle Cook of Matchbox 20. |
