Lonnie Youngblood

Jimi Hendrix's recordings with R&B saxophonist Lonnie Youngblood, are believed to be Hendrix's first experience in the studio. Unfortunately, these tracks are among the most notoriously misrepresented and packaged as "Best of Jimi Hendrix", when in fact they are nothing more than run-of-the-mill R&B tracks, many of which have been doctored with additional guitar work by Hendrix 'impersonators'. In addition, it is normal practice for these tracks to be packaged alongside songs with no Hendrix involvement whatsoever. GoGo Shoes and Wipe the Sweat are among the tracks that Hendrix did play on. These tracks, originally thought to date back to sessions that took place in late 1963, have recently been re-examined.  Some Hendrix scholars now believe these tracks were most likely recorded in 1966.
