Band of Gypsys showed a very different side of Jimi Hendrix. His new band-The Band of Gypsys, with Billy Cox on bass and Buddy Miles on drums, played an earthier, funkier rock than the Experience. A relatively short-lived project, in the long term it brought Billy Cox back into Jimi's musical sphere.
