This faculty position requires that the candidate have a terminal degree in a field of expertise related to music technology. Applicants must show evidence of an established or emerging publication record of peer-reviewed, scholarly research and/or creative activity in one or more of the following academic areas; performance, composition, music business, music education technology, computer-based instruction, software/instrument design, cognition, human-computer interactivity (HCI), and/or emerging media technologies. Applicants will be asked to demonstrate theoretical and practical knowledge of the utilization of music technology as a means to clarify, energize and advance musical expression and experience. Evidence of successful teaching experience in a university setting is required.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
– Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in music, multimedia and music technology.
– Advise undergraduate or graduate students in academic and professional development.
– Collaborate with faculty in advancing course and curriculum development and research.
– Contribute to the department values as a place that is open, creative and academically rigorous.
– Conduct scholarly research in field-appropriate areas of inquiry, which may include digital signal
processing, artificial intelligence, software/instrument design, or other area analogous to the
musical technology discipline.
– Serve on department, school and university committees as assigned.

The NASM-accredited Department of Music and Arts Technology (MAT) offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in Music Technology and Music Therapy.
